Amari (Tiana) has been AUTHORIZED to teach Ashtanga by her teacher Sharath and the
KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute of Mysore India.

Born and raised in Hong Kong and Indian by origin, Amari (Tiana) started practicing yoga from a young age following the spiritual teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda with whom her family has been affiliated with since the 1940’s. A significant part of her development into adulthood has been influenced by his teachings. Prior to teaching yoga, Tiana worked in the corporate world for 11 years. She has worked with global companies such as the LVMH Group and The Financial Times.

She began her Ashtanga Vinyasa practice (as taught by Sri K Patthabi Jois) under the inspiration and guidance of her primary teacher, Paul Dallaghan whom she goes back to study with a few times a year. She believes that this was a pivotal point in her life where yoga really embraced her and she humbly thanks Paul for this. She has also spent time in Mysore practicing at the source with the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Rangaswamy. She continues to go back to Mysore every year spending a few months each time under Sharath's teaching and guidance. She is extremely grateful to Sharath for his teachings, patience, inspiration and friendship.

In 2005, she received her Teacher Training from Centered Yoga and it was during this time, where she was introduced by Paul to Sri O. P. Tiwari, a pranayama master in the tradition of Swami Kuvalayananda, the honored teacher, and founder of the Kaivalyadhama Institute, Lonavla, India. She has also taken advanced training with Tiwariji in pranayama and study of the ancient texts of Hatha yoga.
She believes that by committing and surrendering to her teachers she has found solid grounding and growth develop in her own practice and teaching.

Over the past few years, she has dedicated her studies to developing and understanding the deeper dimensions of yoga through sacred texts and exploring Pranayama.

Amari (Tiana) is an environmentalist- often working with Green Groups around Asia and spearheading environmental projects. She has traveled to Costa Rica working with government - run projects to protect and conserve endangered leatherback turtles – her favourite animal on the planet!

Amari (Tiana) teaches Mysore, Ashtanga Led classes. She is AUTHORIZED to teach Mysore Ashtanga by The Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute. She is also Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance International.
